Galatians: Chapter Six
A transformed life in Christ is revealed in how we relate to others, persevere through pressure, and stand firm spiritually.
The gospel produces a transformed life that restores others, sows into the Spirit, endures faithfully, and refuses to live for outward approval.
The Principle of Restoration (v.1) — “Restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness…”
This reflects the heart of Jesus: restoring, not condemning (John 8:11)
The transformed life lifts others up instead of tearing them down
The principal of help (v1) — “Gently and humble helped that person to the right path”
When we share in the burden sin (struggle, etc) this way, we are fulfilling the law of Christ! (v2)
The principal of sowing — “one reaps what they sow”
“Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.” (v8)
The daily choice: feed the flesh or follow the Spirit
The principle of ‘followship’ (v.9–10)
“Let us not become weary in doing good…”
Faithfulness to the ways of Christ can feel exhausting in a broken world.
Follow with all your heart, soul and mind
Principle of seeking the world’s approval (v.11–18)
Paul exposes those who want outward religious appearance without inward change.
They seek approval, control, and recognition rather than true transformation.
LIFE IN CHRIST: A Community of Transformation
Restore others gently
Take responsibility for your walk
Sow into the Spirit daily
Refuse to give up when life is hard
Live for Christ’s approval, not people’s praise
Help others—both believers and non-believers—experience this same transformation
[Gal 6:18 NLT] Dear brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
