LOVE MERCY

Micah 6:8 (NIV): He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

  • TO LOVE MERCY: Delighting in mercy, valuing compassion, and actively seeking opportunities to extend grace to others, just as God through Christ extends it to us.

  • True faith in the ways of Christ is demonstrated not in ceremonies or rituals, but in how we treat one another—with justice, mercy, and humility.

  • To "love mercy" is to embrace a lifestyle of grace and compassion, shifting our mindset from  judgment or entitlement to one of grace and generosity.

  • Jesus didn’t merely show mercy—He loved it. He healed the outcast, forgave the sinner, and welcomed the broken. When I love mercy, I reflect His heart.

  • How do I create the lifestyle of “loving mercy” that is required of me?

  • Forgiving those who wrong me

    • Ephesians 4:32 (NLT): Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

  • Helping those in need

    • Hebrews 13:16 (NLT): And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.

  • Responding with kindness

    • 1 John 3:17–18 (NLT): If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person? Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.

  • Imagine a world where mercy isn’t just tolerated, but cherished—where compassion is a core value.

  • In a world quick to judge and slow to forgive, God calls me to something deeper—to love mercy. Not just to do it when necessary, but to delight in it. Mercy is God’s heartbeat, and when we love mercy, we are in tune with Him.
